AV Designer
Location: Fully Remote (US-based projects)
Sector: Data Centre / Mission Critical Design
The Opportunity
I’m working with a leading MEPT consulting firm specialising in data centre and mission-critical environments, and they’re looking to bring on an AV Designer (3–10 years’ experience).
It’s a strong opportunity for someone who wants to move into more complex, technically demanding work—particularly within data centres—while still having the flexibility and support to grow long term.
Why This Company Stands Out
- Work Flexibility
- Fully remote role with a flexible schedule—structured enough to keep projects moving, but without rigid hours.
- Strong Benefits Package
- Full healthcare, retirement contributions, and unlimited time off, with a culture that doesn’t punish you for using it.
- Career Development (Backed by Investment)
- Paid support for further education and certifications (CTS, CTS-D, etc.)
- Bonuses tied to passing exams
- Clear progression into senior / lead roles
- High-Impact Projects
- Work on hyperscale data centres and mission-critical facilities, where AV plays a key role in operational environments—not just typical corporate fit-outs.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the design and delivery of AV systems across complex, high-value projects—working alongside ICT, electrical, and MEP teams.
Typical responsibilities:
- Designing AV systems (conference rooms, control rooms, operational spaces, etc.)
- Producing drawings and documentation (Revit / AutoCAD)
- Supporting projects from concept through construction
- Coordinating with ICT, electrical, and wider MEP disciplines
- Assisting with equipment selection, system layouts, and specifications
- Supporting RFIs, submittals, and construction-phase queries
- Contributing to design quality and standards across projects
What They’re Looking For
- 3–10 years’ experience in AV design within a consultancy or integrator environment
- Exposure to complex projects (data centres, critical environments, large commercial, etc.)
- Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of AV systems, infrastructure, and coordination requirements
- Any certifications (CTS / CTS-D) are a plus—or willingness to work towards them
Why It’s Worth a Conversation
This is a good move if you’re looking to:
- Step into more technically complex work beyond standard corporate AV
- Get involved in the data centre market (high demand, strong long-term growth)
- Join a business that actively funds your development (not just talks about it)
- Keep flexibility while still working on serious, well-run projects
